In my mind if you do right then you are rewarded not always. Today’s bible reading says we can love and be pure. We show kindness and understanding and still suffer. I would say think about it but it might cause you to get depressed.

salvation. 3 We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. 4 In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. 5 We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. 6 We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us,* and by our sincere love. 7 We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us….

Someone asked me to expand on my warning. I am an avid reader of the one year Bible. The last two weeks the old testament reading has been in Job. Today it swapped to Ecclesiastes. At the same time the New Testament readings have been Paul’s 2nd letter to the Corinthians. In all these readings people express very difficult life experiences and thoughts. They don’t pretend everything is ok. They express their ups and downs. That is what I love about the Bible. It is real and does not ignore difficulty. Most of us would say life is hard and we can’t relate to people who have no problems. we go through the valley of death. This is the one time you have to read the end of the book. Life does not end at death but extends into eternity. In eternity all things are made right. Sometimes on earth it is not.
